Travel Vienna – best layover tour with kids? Hi, I will arrive in Vienna with my two teenage children on the 6th of February at 16.25. Our next flight leaves at 23.20. We would like to book a couple of hours tour around Vienna. We re visiting for the first time. What do you recommend and what’s available on that day/time?

Dear Drazenka,
Since you have just a few hours in the evening on a date outside the main season, I’m afraid your choices for a guided tour are limited (I have had a good look around.)
The two options I recommend are to either book a private tour guidespecialised in children’s and youth tours in Vienna, or to do a self guided tour.
There are a few good tour guides around who you can book flexibly and who have experience with doing attractive tours for youths and adults alike, such as Gertrude Frantal (gertrude.frantal@aon.at), Verena Euticchio (verena@viennacityguide.at) and Bettina Mandl (bettina-mandl@chello.at).
Alternatively, you can take some inspiration from this Old Vienna Walk and from the Vienna City Guide for Children. The walk will take you no more than two hours and the city guide includes references to sights along the way. On top, the city centre is full of restaurants, cafes and snack bars if you want to have dinner.
