One of Vienna’s cultural hotspots, the MuseumsQuartier (MQ) offers a mix of art, architecture, and entertainment. In June, the MQ’s open courtyards and terraces come alive with outdoor exhibitions, music, and pop-up events. You will enjoy seeing world-class museums like the Leopold Museum and the MUMOK (Museum of Modern Art), or simply relax in the lively courtyards where you’ll find art installations, food stalls, and plenty of seating. Adding a unique twist to this cultural enclave is MQ Amore, a delightful sculpture park, inspired by the charm of a 1950s Italian Riviera. This installation reimagines mini-golf as playable works of art.
Designed by five artists and art collectives in collaboration with key MQ institutions—such as the Leopold Museum, Kunsthalle Wien, and Architekturzentrum Wien—each course is a creative masterpiece. Architect Daniel Sanwald envisioned a nostalgic setting, with contoured courses echoing the waves of a beach. Gravel and turf swirl around the installations, creating a picturesque environment enhanced by warm lighting reminiscent of a late-summer Italian piazza.
Moreover, a charming kiosk acts as the central hub, offering drinks, snacks, and mini-golf equipment. Its opening Hours are Mon–Fri 12:00–20:00; Sat, Sun & holidays 10:00–20:00 with prices for adults €6, children up to 12 €3.50, ten-game packs €50 (adults) or €30 (children).

As a nod towards Vienna’s own Muslim community and to present new perspectives the Weltmuseum will host a thought-provoking exhibition highlighting how the Qur’an has shaped European intellectual history at Heldenplatz. This unique exhibit examines the impact of Islamic teachings on philosophy, science, and art in Europe. Through rare manuscripts, artworks, and historical texts. The exhibition explores three aspects of the Qur’an: First, its role as sacred scripture in Muslim practice, shown through recitations, calligraphy, and decorated manuscripts – contrasting Muslim views of divine revelation with Christian focus on written text. Second, it examines European interactions with the Qur’an through translations, printing, language study, and both critical and admiring scholarship. Third, it looks at the Qur’an’s contemporary relevance and impact.
This exhibition is a great way to gain insight into the ways the Qur’an influenced various aspects of European thought.
Being part of the Hofburg complex the Weltmuseum, known for its rich collections and cultural exhibitions, provides an enlightening experience for anyone interested in history, religion, or cross-cultural exchanges.
