We will travel to Vienna in February 2013 (9th to 18th. Can you recommend 3 good balls within price range of 75 – 125 euros during that time?
Also, could you recommend hotels close to downtown area (within close proximity to balls and historical sites) price range 80 – 120 euros – looking for hotel with old world charm and possible breakfast included.
thank you Rob

I can definitely recommend the Juristenball (Ball of the Lawyer’s Association) on the 9th Feb (www.juristenball.at). The other ball is the
Rudolfina Redoute on the 11th Feb. It is the ball of a students’ association. Even though the audience is of mixed age, you will find a higher amount of young people there. Both balls take place at theImperial Palace (Hofburg).
Most of the best balls are between January and 9th February. (There are two lovely balls on the 8th.) Then, there are just two more balls before the 18th Feb as the 12th Feb is Shrove Tuesday, though I wouldn’t recommend them.
As to your specifications for hotels, here are those I would feel comfortable with. There were still rooms available there when I checked them out, though
they get snatched up fast as February is ball season.Do let me know if this was helpful and if you need anything else.
Thanks! -Barbara
