Day Trips From Vienna: Tour to Wachau Valley
Hi Barbara, what an excellent website. My husband and I will be visiting Vienna from the 9th to the {dep} 12th September. We want to visitWachau region between Melk and Krems and think of visiting Tulln for its garden. What do you think about it? How should we go about?

Hi Erica
I think Wachau Valley is a great idea for spending a day out.
The route between Melk and Krems is the most picturesque. Make sure you take a boat ride, one hour should be enough. This will leave you plenty of time to visit visit Melk Abbey, villages like Duernstein, and local wineries and apricot farms. If you haven’t seen them, check out my tips for the the best Wachau boat trips.
Tulln is renown for its garden and flower show (the largest in Europe), which will end a week before you arrive. If you like gardens, I would honestly focus on the beautiful baroque gardens in Vienna and surroundings.
Hope this helps,
have a great time in Vienna!
Barbara
