Wine Tasting Tour and Vienna Opera Visit
My wife and I will be staying in Vienna 29th August/5th September and would like details of the wine tasting trip and operas, preferably the Vienna State Opera performances, can you help? We do not have our own transport.
Dear Frank,
there are two special wine tasting tours through the Danube valley of Wachau, which is around 45 minutes by car from Vienna. I did them both last summer and found them excellent, each in its own way. You can get a flavour of these tours as well as links to tour calendars and bookings on the Wachau Valley mini van wine tasting tour and Wachau bike and wine tasting tour.
The calendar of performances of the Vienna State Opera for the new season (September 2014 to June 2015) should be publicised from around May onwards. I found it hard to book tickets directly.
